About the Author

Jinny Koh is the author of two books: The Gods Will Hear Us Eventually (Ethos Books) and We Are All Alone in This Anyway (Penguin Random House SEA). Her short story
"Close to Home" was shortlisted for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize and was recently anthologised in the MOE Cambridge O-Level text, How We Live Now, published by Ethos Books.

Her short stories and essays have appeared in The Iowa Review, Cream City Review, Pembroke Magazine, The Carolina Quarterly, QLRS and Kyoto Journal, among others. She was also awarded second prize in the 2023 Goh Sin Tub Creative Writing Competition (Short Story).

A trained journalist, Jinny holds a Bachelor (Hons) of Communication Studies from Nanyang Technological University’s Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information. She went on to receive a Masters in creative writing from the University of Southern California, where she served as Fiction Editor of The Southern California Review, and was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.

She currently teaches narrative writing at the National University of Singapore, and is the editor and co-founder of Deep Narrative, where she develops content for exhibitions, print and digital media. She also conducts creative writing workshops and speaks at literary festivals and events, including the Singapore Writers Festival.

When she's not teaching or writing, Jinny is busy raising her three daughters and a very excitable cavapoo named Dashi.
